Bio

Dmitry Luksha is a Belarusian journalist with 20 years of experience. He began his career as a crime reporter and went on to create and present the highest-rated crime television programme in Belarus. He is the author of dozens of documentaries and investigative reports.

In 2020, he was at the centre of the mass protests in Minsk against the Lukashenka regime. Reporting live from the streets of central Minsk, he covered the violence perpetrated by the Belarusian police and was injured in the leg by a stun grenade.

In 2022, he conducted an investigation into the migration crisis at the Belarusian-Polish border, which had been provoked by the Belarusian authorities. Two weeks after the report was broadcast, he was arrested by the Belarusian security services and sentenced to four years in prison. After his release, he left for Poland, where he hopes to continue his journalistic career.
