Bio

Ana Kulak was born in Mykolaiv, Ukraina and currently lives and works in Szczecin, Poland. Following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, she emigrated to Poland. In 2025, she received her master’s degree from the Painting Department at the Academy of Art in Szczecin. She is a multimedia artist working across painting, installation, sound art, music, and film scoring.
Her practice is rooted in site-responsive strategies, research, and data-driven approaches. She is particularly interested in the relationship between sound and painting. Her recent projects examine human relationships with nature and space, as well as the experience of armed conflict through posthumanist perspectives. Both her visual and sound works frequently incorporate found and natural materials, including grain and salt, alongside field recordings, singing, and poetry.
In 2025, Kulak participated in the Młode Wilki Festival in Szczecin and presented her first solo exhibition, Aftersun, at Terminal08. She also creates sound compositions for exhibitions, collaborates with local filmmakers, and performs live.
